Disaster Relief Quilts

2014:  Oso, WA Mudslide Disaster
Donation are being accepted for the 2014 mudslide disaster on Oso, Washington.  Jean Kester has created a blog, Layers of Hope, where you can contact her for sending donations.  This is a way for our guild to give back from last year's national outpouring of gifts for our own tornado disaster.  Anyone wishing to date quilts or pillowcases can contact Jean through her blog:   www.layersofhopequilting911.blogspot.com

2013:Due to the outpouring of concern across the nation for the victims of the recent tornados in the Moore, Oklahoma and surrounding areas, the NAQG guild has established a task force called "Norman Neighbors in Need"  to coordinate collections and distributions of quilts for these folks.  Guild President, Vicki Borycki, Verna McNabb (Secretary) and Kathy Bishop (Treasurer), along with Celeste Stonecipher (Community Projects) will coordinate this effort.  Our first work day yielded 57 completed pillowcases with more kits prepared for distribution at the June 17 guild meeting.  The regular guild Mondays for August, September, and October will also be designated all-day work days for working on quilts and pillowcases.  Any additional days scheduled will be posted in the blog.  If you would like to submit a quilt or pillowcase, please contact Verna McNabb, or Vicki Borycki for mailing instructions.  Thanks to all who have already given!
