July 21 - Frieda Anderson

July's program features national speaker, Frieda Anderson.

Frieda made her first quilt while in high school.  In college she majored in Art History but returned to fiber because it was more satisfying.  For years her focus was on designing and making clothing, but that changed in 1992 when she realized all she wanted to do was make quilts.  Since then she has been designing and making original art quilts.  Frieda gets much of her inspiration for her designs from nature, from the woods surrounding her home.  About 20 years ago, she discovered hand dyeing and now works almost exclusively with her own dyed cottons and silks.  Frieda will teach a workshop during the day on the 21st at Fun to Sew in Moore.  The class is sold out!  Come join us at the evening guild meeting to meet Frieda and see her wonderful works of art.
